So I had a business trip to LA this week. It was every bit as frenetic as this photo. There and back in 21 hours. Some "Twitters Never Sent":
- I totally rocked the 3-1-1 toiletry packing. The TSA agent held my baggie up as an example of how to 1) have it packed and 2) have it out and ready.
- The mosaic artwork at the entrance to the men's restroom of some kind of leaf (oak?) looks totally phallic.
- Flying with a head cold/sinus infection sucks.
- I spent my first night away from Simon and Billie since they came to live with me. I missed them like crazy, but this also means I really need a proper vacation.
- The room I had at the LA Athletic Club (the pres. of my company is a member) was nearly as big as my apartment. The cal-king bed, for me, was rather like putting a betta fish in a 100-gallon aquarium.
- The KTLA weather dude, doubles as the entertainment reporter. Only in LA.
- So, this convicted pedophile was being interviewed on KTLA and I tuned in just as the reporter was asking the guy, incredulously, if he was really serious that he (pedophile) just "accidentally" ended up at the Infant Studies department at UCLA (where he had been arrested earlier in the day). Pedophile Guy claimed that was really an accident and he didn't know where he was. Later, it was revealed that, while Reporter Guy was interviewing Pedophile Guy, the cops came and arrested Pedophile Guy *again* because, when they let him out earlier in the day, they told him to just stay the bloody hell away from the UCLA campus, FULL STOP. Yet, there he was, giving Reporter Guy an interview on the UCLA campus. He's either irretrievably stupid or he believes that Prison Orange really makes his eye colour pop.
- After meeting co-worker for breakfast at the Grill Room in the Club, he mentioned that it was weird that I had to up a floor to use the ladies' room. "Oh, I have the sneaking suspicion that women were rather an after-thought here," I told him.
- Having an all-day meeting with a Very Big Client sucks when you also have a head cold.
- Did I mention that I missed my furkids?
- There was much good cloud-geeking to be done on the flight back to OAK.
- Yay for Gwen/Chad for feeding the furkids and letting Billie run around the apartment (she's always happy to have all that room to run freely without Simon tackling her)!
- My furkids missed me, too. Simon wouldn't let me out of his sight.
- I was so exhausted when I got home, I was barely awake for the Chinese food delivery guy. I had about three bites, gave up and went to bed.
- My exhaustion was so deep that I slept through a minor earthquake.
